Flower . Power

As I've been reading about decorating, and looking at suggestions for choosing colors, one of the most frequent that I've come across is to "grab colors from nature." Since that can apply to interior design, I see no reason why it can't work for fashion also!

Chanel . Cruise . 2010

Karl Lagerfeld is not one who's known for putting on simple runway shows - he typically has ultra expensive sets built - such as when the models all came out of (or went into?) a towering Chanel jacket.

So that's why the choice for presenting the 2010 Cruise collection on a sandy boardwalk is such a lovely surprise:

And the clothes? Well, they're not so bad either.

Thanks {and today...}

Thank you everyone for all of the lovely comments and well-wishing on the last post!! I will indeed keep everyone updated...especially as it pertains to the blue that I've chosen for the office space. I had my fabrics and color palette all set out, and then when the blue actually got painted...well, I may have to rethink.

I'm off to a meeting/workshop all day today (blech!), but I'll be back tomorrow with some actual posting!

Until then, check out some of the lovely blogs listed off to the side (or if you're one of those lovely blog writers, give yourself a gold star for writing well done!).

Especially take a peek at a post on Grass Valley from The Cottage Cheese

...this town looks like a lovely place to be!

Found . It! {+ updates!}

So after spending two days searching Google with the most ridiculous combination of keywords, I found the green leafy wallpapaper!! It's an Osborne & Little pattern called "Davidia," and I've ordered a sample from the UK-based, i.e...wallpaper, so hopefully it will be here shortly!

And the big update: we closed on the house yesterday morning!!

We've got one and a half months before we need to be out of our current rental, so we've got plenty of time to get projects started & completed!

Thankfully the house has gorgeous wood floors:

...and an amazing garden that includes Wisteria, Clematis, Lilac, a Japanese Maple, Witches' Cane, Sage, Rose, and loads more! (This also intimidates me a little, as I'm not much of a gardener - though there's no time to learn like the present!). The wisteria that's wound around the back arbor also came with a lovely little surprise:

...a mother robin and her tiny baby birds! They're right outside the kitchen window, so we'll get to peek at them every day!

The house did also come with some unfortunate paint colors:

...which means LOTS of primer and paint, but I'm excited to actually be able to do whatever I want to these rooms!

I'll keep everyone updated and post loads more pictures, including some of the flowers in the garden as they bloom!

Happy Saturday!

Blog . Crush {Moodboard}

As I was trying to track down that pesky Domino wallpaper last night, I came across Moodboard, and there went the rest of my time!

I spent over an hour trolling through pages (years) of past posts, all due to the utter fabulousness of this blog. The inspiration is endless, as there are great posts on everything from design, to fashion, to shopping:

And there are also style pics from the blog's author, as she posts some of her super.cool outfits:

I definitely recommend wandering over for a peek!

P.S. - I am so stealing that black/animal print blouse look when fall gets here!

Design . SOS

Now that Domino Magazine is no longer with us, I'm finding myself without resources!! Does anyone have the issue that the photo below comes from?

I'm trying to find out who makes the pretty.pretty wallpaper, but have had no luck so far :(
