Yesterday we headed to Cleveland for a long weekend, and so far it's been marvelous. Friday included some fun shopping for vintage + records, and then yummy Cambodian food for dinner. Today we had a lazy morning, and then watched a smidge of The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Freedom, before heading to the east side. I got a new pair of Jeffrey Campbell platforms at Nordstrom Rack (on sale for $30!! Pics later), a sparkly necklace at JCrew (only $10!!), and finally a sale sweater from my favorite store on the planet, Anthropologie. The way they decorate is just as fabulous as the pretty stuff that they sell.
Katie Cat came out to help with the outfit pictures today - she's the cutest cat ever, and, here's the crazy part... she's 20 years old!! But she's just as spry as ever, and is happiest sitting on your shoulders :)
This is part of a wonderful collection of jewelry designs from Vamoose. I think the individual pieces are beautiful and inspiring, and the site is 100% worth checking out, as it's overflowing with beautiful photography.
1. Rip out some walls so I can have a room that's this big.
2. Get a ginormous sofa/bed thing + lots of cool pillows.
3. Find some new bohemian friends.
4. Spend the rest of my life painting/writing/throwing glamorous but laid back parties.
Obviously coats of this ilk aren't so much for wearing anywhere but a runway or editorial (accept for Leigh Lezark didn't seem to get that message), but these pictures are kind of stunning anyway. I'm in love with how she makes the bulky garments seem not heavy, but graceful.

The next two days look like they will be our last couple of warm ones, and they're pretty gloomy as well. Considering it's almost November, and most of October has been really quite lovely, I don't mind too much. Though a cloudy & gusty day seemed to call for some dark interior design.

These last couple of days must have been the loveliest Autumn days ever. The colors are crazy beautiful, and the temperatures have been in the upper 60s. We've gone for walks, bike rides, and tried to soak up as much of it as possible.
With very little color and a lot of heftier pieces, this room should be quite stuffy, but I'm in love with the paintings gathered at the bottom of the stairs, the tufted chaise, and I suspect that you'd be hard pressed to drag me out!
Apologies for the short absence - the last two days included: ten hours of teaching, one auction, some grading, two hours of sitting in my car to get a good spot in line at an estate sale, having the oil changed on my car, taking stuff out to my parents' house, + all of the regular day-to-day stuff. Thank god the weekend is going to be a little bit quieter!
But speaking of the auction and the estate sale... all of these little vintage goodies (including that reversible leopard cape!) will be popping into the store soon, + Pretty Little World will start to carry vintage menswear!
