I think that I could do fairly well as an interior designer, with the exception of one thing: I don't understand how people make piles/mounds/heaps/stacks of stuff in a space, and have it look so polished. When I pile things in my house, it just looks messy. Perhaps it's a class offered up in art school: "How to Make Pretty Stacks 101."

What a glorious space! I LOVE this post!!! Thanks for sharing such beautiful photos!!
High ceilings and metal staircases are all I ask of my future. ^_^ Great post.
Ooohhh... I'm shocked to say I actually dislike this space... it feels very chaotic and random to me, and not at all comfortable... it feels very cold... I'm not sure I would want to wake up in that room on a gray and cloudy day... Just not my style I guess...
I can do small stacks of things three or five books here or there, etc... but what I think looks great in photo shoots and weird in my house is great big stacks, like when people have stacks and stacks of books on the floor and they sort of use them as a side table or stack them up a wall from floor to eye level or ceiling... love the way it looks in magazines but in my house I see the stack and say to myself you really need to find those books a proper home!
gorgeous - and I know exactly how you feel! If you find that class - let us know!
I just want (fake!!!) ants climbing up my wall :p

LOL how to make pretty stacks 101. I'm the same way when I make a pile it gets messy. I love these loft photos, makes me really want a new place.
