Confection

The Post Office/UPS has been very, very good to me this week. I've gotten in a slew of things that will be added to the shop + a little smattering of things for myself.

This pretty frock - which feels just like a teensy piece of heaven - came in the mail today from Net-a-Porter. It's a Silk Chiffon Dress from Juicy Couture, and I waited ever so patiently until it hit their sale section. This dress is perfect in every way - just ankle length, so it doesn't drag; it's lightweight and floaty; and the petal pink color is flattering on, like, everyone.

Other things in their sale section that have my eye: (1) Giuseppe Zanotti Platforms, though someone has cruelly taken my size; (2) Stella McCartney Denim Top, because it reminds me of something my mother used to wear; and this (3) Proenza Schouler Dress, even though I have no place to wear it.

Also, if this Gucci Marrakech Bag could maybe, hopefully, perhaps go on sale, I would be ever so grateful!

Late . Afternoon . Reveal

And so the semester ends, and summer begins with...







... a new pair of shoes! Just what my closet was lacking. He he.

I first saw these on Fashiontoast, and thought, "Oh my god! Bright blue crushed velvet wedges! Must. Have."

So then I wandered over to Theory and immediately discovered that they were out of my size. Boo. I sent a hopeful tweet to them to ask whether a restocking was in store, and they responded crazy fast with a "We'll check into it for you," and shortly thereafter, a resounding, "Yes!"


And then today they arrived.

Phew. Shoe catastrophe narrowly avoided.

New . Things

Spring is slowly - very slowly - but surely coming, and I can't help but be enamored with the bright colors in these pretty little fish necklaces (both from Forever21), Chanel's limited edition summer nail colors in Morning Rose, Mimosa, and Beige Petale, and these whimsical bee pins that were snagged on sale at Express.

I'm also over the moon about the travel plans that we've just made: we've rented a house in Montreal for a short while later in the summer, and not long after we're headed to The Czech Republic and Germany!! I'm not at all wishing the spring and summer away, but it is a nice little bit of adventure to look forward to!

New Things { Balenciaga + Fendi }

I started searching for these Balenciaga Black Leather Slingbacks in early November - long after they were out of stores, unfortunately - and after four months of searching, had nearly given up hope of finding them. But then, the fashion gods smiled my way, and a pair in exactly my size came to live with me!




As soon as I saw the Fendi Fantasia Platforms on the SS 2011 runway, I knew I'd them. They seemed like the perfect shoe to anchor swingy spring dresses and it turns out that they're kind of magical with skinny jeans too.

Tick, tock spring weather... where are you?
