Here . Kitty . Kitty

I've been practicing doing cat-eye liner/winged liner now since whenever it was that I became obsessed with it. Is it possible to get worse at something the more you do it? After trying loads of brushes + smudge pots, liquid liners, and pencils, I'm down to this liquid pen thing. Unfortunately the pen thing has a blunt tip (who thought that would work for any sort of eyeliner??), so I'm hunting for a pointy-tip one.

Sigh. Whenever I'd watch the Rachel Zoe Project, I always thought it to be too, too much that she always had someone to zip over and do her hair and makeup. But now... maybe I can find someone to do that kind of thing, but you know, for cheap. Or free.

Love the photos you collected? Second from the bottom - is that Christina Hendricks? I love the cat-eye look too, but I've never had the courage to do more than just tiny wings that end up looking like eyelashes anyway. One day!

not sure if you've tried it, but i use those little gel eyeliner pots w/ a brush that tapers to a point..i actually do makeup for a living and i find it easier to do the cat eye on myself than on other people...but it can get tricky. i kind of tilt my head up and keep my lid down while stretching my lid out w/ my finger. it's so much easier to show someone, but i guess that explanation will have to do! good luck!

^^ Thanks for the great tip! I've tried the pots before, but not with that kind of a brush - all of the brushes that I've tried so far have been too thick to make a great line.

aaah, i'm so with you on this! i've tried using gel liner with an angled brush, but my problem is that i can't get my left eye to look the same as my right! the right always comes out perfectly. the left? not so much.

did you ever try using scotch tip? break off a small piece of tape and align it at the corner of your eye (where you want the liner to curl up). trace along that line for a sharp, cat-eye effect. this actually works for some people (not me because i'm a spaz).

The Physicians Formula Eye Definer Felt-tip Eye Marker is perfect for cat eyes! I tried everything before I found this one and it's the best.

I love Christina Hendricks. Waiting for the 5th season of Mad Men is like watching a pot waiting for it to boil!

I've totally had the uneven eyes thing. And then I stand there, tilting my head back and forth in front of the mirror, trying to figure out if it's too noticeable :)
