Hanging . Gardens

I'm currently in the middle of redecorating three rooms in our house: the dining room, my studio, and the upstairs bathroom. The bathroom redo is not a full-blown fixer-upper, but more like a patch job. Let me be clear about one thing: the upstairs bathroom is not pretty. Really not pretty. So when we save up, I'm going to rip out absolutely everything and start completely afresh.

So until then, I'm trying to remake the room without spending more than $150 or so -- I can't really see the point of putting much more money and effort in when I'm eventually going to tear it all down anyway. I should be done with the whole room in a week or so, but here's a teeny peek at something going in the room:

I definitely wanted to add some plants to the bathroom, but didn't want just a traditional hanging basket. So I picked up these little wired jars at Urban Outfitters for $1.99 each, and then pulled apart a small Ivy Pothos ($2.99 at the grocery store), and put a few rinsed off stems in each jar. I hung them from the ceiling using plant hooks ($1.99 for 4) and thick jewelry wire ($2.99 for 10 yards). So for about $10, I got some cute new greenery for the almost-updated bathroom!

Truly amazing idea. You're so good at this. We don't have an Urban Outfitters here so I might have to shimmy up my own. I think you should come over and redecorate my place too :D

I adore them! I love seeing pictures of your home as you renovate and decorate. I'm crushing on the hanging pots right now, and have been trying to figure out where to put some in my house. I don't have much room for houseplants, so hanging plants would be a great way of keeping the floors and furniture surfaces un-cluttered.
