Patterns . and . Colors
I've been thinking a lot recently about mixing different textures, patterns, and colors to put together a creative but still cohesive design scheme. In my search for inspiration, I found the perfect example of this on Decor8. Recently they featured the home of artist Kelly Rae Roberts.

I like this a lot! The bright colors make everything so cheery!
i like some of these - in some areas its almost too many different patterns and textures together. But I love those stacked suitcases, what a cool idea
very quirky, young and fun!
love this house....bright & fun & really individual, a great find xx
These are gorgeous! Love the floral bedspread + zebra print rug combo.
i love the light and airy vibe of these rooms!
p.s. i am alive, just so so swamped. i plan to catch up on blogging next week on my vacay!
I am all about the old meets new...if it's done correctly.
*sigh*
hope you had a good weekend.
xo
It's just not doing it for me. I see Anthropologie...but I don't see the antiques. I don't mean that I can't pick out the antiques items, I just mean that even the antique items look like Anthropologie. It kind of all just looks like the Anthropologie catalog to me...but not even designed as well. I think I agree with Alissa in that some areas seem a little too much...I like mixtures of patterns and colors...but I feel like SOMETHING needs to be tying them together...otherwise it's like they just get lost in the shuffle.
I seriously love every single picture in this post. All the colors, and other little elements.Excellent!
